Use with other AI tools
Rules files and setup for Cursor, Copilot, Codex, Lovable, ChatGPT and any assistant that reads a rules file.
opendraft is not tied to one assistant. The rules are plain markdown on public URLs, and every file below is generated from the same source, so they never disagree. We have tested the flow with Claude; the others follow each tool's documented file format but have not been tested yet. Tell us what breaks.
Rules files
Save it as AGENTS.md, then add the line @AGENTS.md to CLAUDE.md.
curl -o AGENTS.md https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nuelmdesign/UI-System/HEAD/public/agent-rules/AGENTS.mdSave it as .cursor/rules/opendraft.mdc. Cursor also reads AGENTS.md.
curl -o .cursor/rules/opendraft.mdc https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nuelmdesign/UI-System/HEAD/public/agent-rules/opendraft.mdcSave it as .github/copilot-instructions.md.
curl -o .github/copilot-instructions.md https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nuelmdesign/UI-System/HEAD/public/agent-rules/copilot-instructions.mdSave it as AGENTS.md at the project root.
curl -o AGENTS.md https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nuelmdesign/UI-System/HEAD/public/agent-rules/AGENTS.mdPaste it into Project Settings, Knowledge. Lovable can't run the shadcn command, so the rules use the by-hand steps and a ready-made theme.css.
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nuelmdesign/UI-System/HEAD/public/agent-rules/lovable-knowledge.mdPaste it into the GPT's Instructions. ChatGPT can't run commands, so it writes the code and lists the install commands for you to run.
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nuelmdesign/UI-System/HEAD/public/agent-rules/chatgpt-gpt-instructions.mdA short version that fits the custom-instructions field.

Use Copy with rules included on the Use with AI page. It puts the rules in the prompt itself. The assistant writes the code and ends with the install commands to run in your project.
Without a command line, an assistant installs by hand from the registry JSON and saves theme.css as the global stylesheet. The rules explain the steps.
Editors with a registry client
The shadcn command-line tool can run as an MCP server, so editors that support MCP (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code with Copilot) can browse and install from any registry listed in components.json, including this one. Run npx shadcn@latest mcp init --client claude (or cursor, vscode) in your project. See the shadcn MCP docs.
v0's "Open in v0" link does not support namespaced registries or theme CSS, so it suits single components rather than a whole opendraft setup.
Industry playbooks
Every rules file points assistants at the use-case playbooks, so a request for a logistics, healthcare or fintech product starts from the components that suit it.
